We finally got around to putting some trim up around the fireplace. For some reason when the brick was installed, they put it out about an inch and a half from the wall studs. So with the 1/2 inch drywall we put up, the backside of the bricks were still about an inch away from the finished wall. And the top of the brickwork was a couple inches below our finished ceiling. So we decided to put some crown moulding around the brick at the top, and some smaller trim along the sides to cover the ugly gaps.
