With forecasts of sunny skies and warm temperatures and reports of good snow conditions, Brooke and I decided to head South to climb Mount Adams (12,278 ft). We decided to climb the South Spur route. We camped at the "Lunch Counter" at about 9,000 ft, which is where most people camp on this route. We got up a little before sunrise on Sunday morning to get an early start since we also had to make the 5 hour drive home that day. We made good time to the summit. The weather was perfect, with clear skies and no wind. After enjoying the view and a snack at the top, we headed down. We got about 3,000 vertical feet of glissading in on the way from the summit back down to camp, making it down in one hour. We packed up, ate lunch, and headed down the rest of the way to the car. It turned out to be a really great trip, with perfect conditions.
