Brooke and I had been talking about climbing Mt. Stuart for a while, and decided this would be a good weekend to do it. We drove to the trailhead Saturday morning, and hiked in over Longs Pass, and down to Ingalls Creek at about 4,800 ft. We got a little rain on and off through the afternoon at camp. Sunday morning we got an early start since we knew we'd have a long day. There was some blue sky in the morning, but the clouds rolled in as we made our way to the summit up the Cascadian Couloir route. We made good time, and were at the summit, 9,415 ft, in just over 4 hours. We spent about 30 minutes on top as what little view we had disappeared into the clouds, then headed down. We made it back to camp in a little over 2.5 hours, packed up, and headed back out over Longs Pass and down to the car. It would have been nice to have more of a view from the summit, but either way, it was a great climb.
