With a three day weekend for Labor Day, Brooke and I decided to get out for a two night backpacking trip. We chose to go to the Goat Rocks Wilderness since we'd never been there before, and had heard good things about the area. We found a nice loop trail, and started out on the trail in the sun on Saturday morning with a couple options for where we would camp that night. We ended up finding a great campsite just below Hawkeye Point with a great view of Mount Adams to the South. Unfortunately the clouds rolled in around sunset, and by morning we no longer had a view of anything. We decided to pack up and head around the loop and see where the day took us. By lunch time we had made it to Snowgrass Flats with lots of nice campsites. Since it was so early in the day, and there was no signs of the weather clearing up, we decided to finish the hike and head home.
