Last July, we backpacked through The Enchantments with Kelly, Alan, Kirsten, and Steve. After that trip, Brooke, Kirsten, Steve, and I decided it would make a fun dayhike. We'd planned on doing it that fall, but the weather turned bad before we got a chance to go. So this year we planned better and ended up having a perfect day. We started out by parking one car at the Snow Lakes Trailhead and then driving up to the Start Lake Trailhead. We were hiking on the Stuart Lake Trail by 7:15 AM and made our way up over Aasgard pass, through the Enchantment Basin, and out the Snow Lakes trail. We made the traverse in just over 9 hours, which was about what we'd expected for the 18 mile hike with 5,100 ft of elevation gain and 7,100 ft of descent. We all had a great time and couldn't have asked for better weather!
