Gem lakE

Brooke and I were looking for a quick hike, and decided to head up to Gem Lake, a couple miles past Snow Lake. We'd never been to Snow Lake, and since it's supposed to be really scenic, we decided it would be a good one to do. We saw quite a few people, but it wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be, given how popular the trail is. The day started out pretty overcast with low clouds, but it opened up a bit in the afternoon and didn't rain. There was still a lot of fall color out, but definitely past the peak. It turned out to be a really nice hike, and very scenic.
