Summit lakE

Since we hadn't been out hiking since May, and the forecast looked perfect, we decided to take Ellie out on her first hike. We chose to head South to Summit Lake which is just North of Mt. Rainier National Park. Since it is just outside the park boundary, dogs are welcome. And Charlie was very excited! The trail heads up to Summit Lake where you get a great view of Mt. Rainier across the lake. The weather was perfect, and Ellie did great. We hung out at the lake for an hour or so and ate lunch, fed Ellie, and threw sticks into the lake for Charlie to chase. We all had a great time, and plan to go back sometime backpacking with Ellie.
